"I started using Du Fresne's Auto after the dealer of my 2003 Chrysler T&C screwed up a battery repair, that was incorrectly diagnosed several time over several month earlier. Du Fresne's is near my house and they were willing to look at my battery issue on short notice. With deep analysis, they diagnosed the problem with a flakey internal alternator fan. This caused voltage issues so the battery was never charging properly. They replaced the alternator about two yeas ago and I've no problems since. Since then, Du Fresne's is the only place I take the van. And they are honest with the charges."

"I took my 1996 Jeep Cherokee to DuFresne's when it started leaking anti-freeze and smoking. I was told I had a cracked radiator and was given a rough estimate. I called 3 other mechanics and one Jeep-specialty mechanic and DuFresne's was the best price. I was a bit nervous because I had always used my trusted "Jeep-guy" near my house. I went with price and got great service and quality, too! My car is running beautifully and I have found a new trusted mechanic!
In addition, my heater was going in and out when I took the Jeep in, and they fixed it at NO cost!

Almost hidden in a residential area off the Sunset highway, Dufresne's is the epitome of "family owned" business. Everyone that works here is so darn friendly and knowledgeable!
We have visited Dufresne's for mechanical fixes, and they continue to be where we turn first (as do our family members). They always research everything and present you with the best information before they do any work on your car, and even when they don't work on your car!
Example: we own a Mini, and when they didn't have special tools to let them work on our car, they called around, hit the internet and helped us locate places that could help us -- and even though they could not work on the car themselves, they also told us what problems there might be according to Mini websites. In addition to that, they had spent time trying to diagnose the car, but when they hit a dead end because they didn't have the right tools, they didn't charge us anything for their time because they had not been able to diagnose it. Honesty? Integrity? These people should be praised on CarTalk!
The other thing that makes me just love this place is that they have a monthly newsletter with cute info, contests and coupons. After one visit they were having a darts promotion, where you threw a dart at a board for various prizes -- we got a 50 dollar coupon -- score!
Okay, enough of my gushing. I think you can tell I love this place, and promote it with all I've got!."
"I have been going to dufresnes since I moved to portland oregon from california. I learned about them when they sent me a welcome to the neighborhood letter. So I tried them and have never gone anywhere else. well I can't exactly say that. I recently took a trip to idaho and had a flat tire. wasn't to worried about going to a place i didn't know for a small item like this. I had changed my tire and was driving on the spare. I put in auto service in my gps and i found a place not to far from where I was at. The sign on the door said open at 8:00 am - great it was 8:30am. but the door was locked. So I waited around and 15 minutes later comes a guy with a key. HE told me I would have to wait outside till he got everything opened. so another 15 minutes goes by and finally he is taking my information. Then tells me i will have to wait because his mechanic is just a few minutes late. The mechanic should up a 1/2 hour later. the tire was finally fixed and i was on my way. It just reminded me why i go to dufresnes. Its like going to a doctor that actually has known you for years and you can tell that they the doctor really cares. That is the feeling i get everytime I walk in the door at dufresnes. They know my name and even my pets names. Did i mention they are dog friendly. not to many places are. I have gone thru a few cars since i started going to dufresnes and i honestly feel that I have gotten more money for my cars when i have sold them because they are in such great shape. I trust them completely. One time i knew I needed a new clutch. Even told Steve that I was getting myself prepared for the bad news. The next thing I know they are telling me my car was all done. They were able to adjust my clutch and when I sold the car 2 years later it was still going strong! Do yourself a favor and give them a try."

"Du Fresne's Auto Service at 10690 NW Cornell Road provides superior service for our cars. Recently the tail lights on our Subaru were not working. I brought it in for repair and they traced the problem through the system to the switch in the steering column. Even though it took hours and a lot of labor to solve our problem Du Fresne's charged me a very reasonable price. On top of that they allowed me to

"Wow, it is nice to find an auto repair place that is professional and that I trust. I have an issue with my car that needs to be fixed eventually, but not right away. The price was a bit high, but I feel it is worth it if you want it done right. They were very thorough and took time to explain to me the problem I had. I was only in the area for 2 weeks when a friend recommended them to me. It is nice to know that I have a place to go when I have issues with my car. This place is a gem!"

of you to know how terrific you are. I used to bring my Honda Accord
to you when you were at Murray and Cornell, but when you left there
and I bought a Saturn, I went to the Saturn dealership for servicing.
I knew you had moved to your current location, but I stuck with Saturn
because they treated me well, knew the service I needed and never did
anything that didn't need to be done. However, when Saturn went out of
business, I had to find another place to have my car serviced. I first
